This project served as an exploration of combining sketchbook character designs with 3D models created in Maya. The characters had existed in my sketchbook for some time before the project began, and after my instructor noticed them, she encouraged me to develop a game centered around them.
Inspired by characters of The Addams Family, I created a creepy birthday party setting that complemented their design and personality. The primary objective of the assignment was to model the characters and environment in Maya and export them as FBX files for implementation in Unity. Once imported, I incorporated animation and spatial environmental audio to bring the scene to life and create a more immersive experience.

This project was inspired by games such as Silent Hill 2 and Half-Life. Prior to this, I created a soundtrack for a fictional video game called Dock Wall Continues South. One of the tracks from that album, Escaping a Spaceship, became the foundation for this project and inspired the game's overall concept as it can be heard in the later half of the game.
My goal was to create a dark, misty, and industrial atmosphere while also showcasing several 3D models I developed during the course. These included the sink from my Bathroom Series, which was itself inspired by Silent Hill 2. When they game developing that game, the first bathroom scene was where they started.
Similar to the development process behind Half-Life, I spent time photographing real world surfaces and objects to create textures from scratch. While not every texture used in the game was sourced from my own photographs, I enjoyed the process and created as many of them as possible myself.

This project was my first experience working with Unity in 2022. I set out to recreate a house based on the one I was living in at the time, while introducing a mysterious machine entity in the basement to give the environment a more sinister atmosphere.
One of the most impactful lessons I took from this project was seeing how dramatically textures and video textures could transform a scene. Adding these elements brought the environment to life, making the spaces feel more believable and easier to understand. This experience sparked my interest in texture creation and became the beginning of my fascination with developing textures for 3D environments.
